About The Program
Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement (MESA) at Sonoma State University is a nationally recognized California academic support program that provides a resilient learning community and strong base to students in the School of Science and Technology. The goal of MESA is to increase the number of historically underrepresented students who pursue and persist in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related degrees and, ultimately, careers. Throughout their studies, MESA students engage in “high impact” experiences, such as advising, undergraduate research, tutoring, mentoring, and leadership development. This academic community is what sets MESA apart from other programs.

Join us for Weekly Meetings
MESA meetings are gatherings of majors across disciplines to learn, grow, and connect to resources and information. Join us Mondays at 5 PM or Tuesdays at 5 PM
Connect with STEM Majors
MESA prides itself on it’s peer mentor program designed to increase persistence among STEM students.
Earn Honors
The MESA Honors program is for students who want to further their academic and professional development. We are now able to offer stipends to students who earn Honors.
Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunities
MESA Members who apply for our Research Opportunities can team up with SSU Faculty and get PAID to conduct research.
